Our Peer Educators across the Chris Hani and Joe Gqabi Districts have successfully completed their training and are now ready to lead, support and make a real impact on campus.

Recently, Higher Health conducted Peer Educator Training across the Chris Hani and Joe Gqabi Districts, facilitated by Campus Care Worker, Inam Pupuma. Over the course of the training 40 students were trained over two days.

Progress continues on the Higher Health clinic under renovation at Motheo TVET College. The facility is strategically located within a multi-purpose building which includes a comfort room, computer lab and disability unit .

[PEER EDUCATOR TRAINING] Higher Health in partnership with Ekurhuleni East TVET College hosted a Peer Educator Training Programme, facilitated by Campus Care Worker Tebogo Letawane. The training covered key Higher Health priority areas.

During the visit of the Deputy Minister (SAPS), Dr SP Boshielo at the launch of the Campus Community Safety Forum held at Mopani TVET College, Phalaborwa Campus. Gift Moremi, a Peer Educator from Sir Val Duncan Campus shared a message on Gender-Based Violence.

Recently, Higher Health in collaboration with the Durban University of Technology (DUT) HIV & AIDS Centre, hosted a dialogue session at Lonsdale Residence, South Beach.

Higher Health in collaboration with Eastcape Midlands TVET College, Thanduxolo Campus hosted a Civic and Soft Skills Programme Camp from 27–29 March 2026. On the 28 March 2026, the camp welcomed colleagues from the National Skills Fund (NSF) for a quality assurance assessment.

During the panel discussion under the theme “Students Don’t Cross the Line: Taking Accountability for Consent,” Higher Health Counselling Psychologist, Ms Hope Fata, unpacked the realities of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in higher education institutions.

During the GBVF Response Campus Dialogue – Respect Campaign held at the University of Fort Hare, Alice Campus a group of students delivered a powerful message. Wearing t-shirts representing each letter, they unpacked what RESPECT stands for.

During the opening and setting of the day’s purpose, Nomzamo Dukada, Social Worker from the University of Fort Hare GBVGD Office, emphasised that addressing GBV is not the responsibility of one individual, but a collective effort by all stakeholders and students.
