@BristolTreeFora @CllrEllieking @DanicaPriest @avonwt The scrub habitat at Yew Tree Farm is what makes it so special for such a wide range of wildlife. It would be a tragedy and a travesty and completely ecologically illiterate to remove it in the name of achieving the fixed conditions the site was in when it was designated

@CllrEllieking @DanicaPriest @avonwt @IanBarrettSW All the onsite scrub habitats have medium distinctiveness under the biodiversity gain rules and cover 0.368 ha. They are in fairly poor to moderate condition but worth 11% of the biodiversity value of the site. All this habitat will be removed.

I’m just at Yew Tree farm where we have discovered the council has started work on the drainage infrastructure without planning permission. This is an SNCI with dormice. They have already flayed some scrub and this species rich grassland looks terrible @avonwt @IanBarrettSW

Let’s see who’s involved in this new Climate & Nature Partnership. Saddiq lists his affiliation as LL of Somerset but he’s an MV, Executive Director of Operations—for that most polluting and profiting—Wessex Water, linked to Uni of Bristol & Bristol Green Partnership et al.

Incredible bird survey at our #rewilding sites yesterday! Goshawk, woodcock & merlin all new records at #WilderLittleDuxmore & SE owl at #WilderNunwell. Great to see new species using the sites, nature is returning! Snaps of other species seen & an Exmoor pony of course!
