Started building a dotmap of the world in #SwiftUI, because I thought it would look cool. Then it hit me: I could use my camera roll to populate it with every country I've been to A few weeks later it had turned into an app that scans your photos and dots your travels on the map

@Inncoder_ Honestly the best apps come from exactly this. You start building something just because it looks cool, then the real idea hits you halfway through. Is it live on the App Store yet? The camera roll scanning angle sounds really clever.

@ybouane Ha, fair! Photos shows photo locations. Dotted answers "how many countries have I been to?" with stats, % of the world, and a trip timeline with photos attached.

@Inncoder_ Using the camera roll as the source of truth is smart; linking memories to data is the real hook.

@Inncoder_ This is how the best apps happen. You start with "that would look cool" and wake up three weeks later with actual product. The camera roll idea is genius. Makes the data entry feel invisible. Are you planning to release this?
