@alistardean @TimRapley Resolution determines the quantity and spacing of captured data points, whereas accuracy gauges how well it relates and represents the object being scanned. Scanning accuracy always trumps resolution contrary to what some vendors say.

@alistardean @TimRapley Resolution and accuracy are commonly thought to be the same thing, but definitely are not. It is also not true that higher resolution results in higher accuracy.

Once you have a model, ‘BIMify’ it, using AI to auto-identify profiles, storeys, slabs, floors, walls, glazing. All end up in the structure browser. Actually quite bloody amazing! This is slick stuff. You then add the stuff it didn’t identify. #BRICSYS2018

Folks who are using DS’s ACIS as a modelling kernel are being ‘advised’ to move to DS’s CGM (Catia). This is a huge development issue for many CAD firms. Hearing many developers are weighing up moving to Siemens Parasolid or biting the CGM bullet.
