There are reports that Trump is considering making him the permanent AG.

Even a DEMOCRAT Poll Admits It — Ken Paxton is CRUSHING John Cornyn in the Texas GOP Runoff!
A brand-new Impact Research poll (conducted March 12-17, 2026, among 900 likely 2026 general election voters in Texas) just dropped — and it’s devastating for establishment RINO John Cornyn.
Among likely Republican primary voters heading into the May 26 GOP runoff:
• Ken Paxton: 53%
• John Cornyn: 37%
That’s a dominant 16-point lead for Paxton. Texas Republicans aren’t just rejecting Cornyn — they’re running him out of town.
And the favorability numbers make it even clearer why the base is done with the swamp:
• Paxton is popular with these voters: 64% favorable / 31% unfavorable (+33 net)
• Cornyn is underwater even with the GOP base: 45% favorable / 47% unfavorable (-2 net)
Overall (among all likely voters), both are unpopular — but Cornyn is far worse:
• Paxton: 37% fav / 55% unfav (-18)
• Cornyn: 27% fav / 60% unfav (-33)
Cornyn is even more toxic among Independents (23% fav / 65% unfav) than Paxton.
This isn’t some conservative poll trying to spin things. It’s from a firm tied to Democrat James Talarico (who, according to this poll, leads both in the general by tiny margins: 43-41 over Cornyn and 44-43 over Paxton).
Cornyn is the only reason Talarico is in this conversation. Voters are reacting to Republican weakness and establishment fatigue. This is not a sign Texas is turning blue. It is a sign we need to nominate strength.
The Texas GOP base wants a fighter like Ken Paxton, not a 24-year DC insider who’s been part of the problem.
May 26 is our chance.
Remove the RINO.
Nominate the conservative.
Back Ken Paxton for U.S. Senate.
Texas deserves better than Cornyn’s weak, establishment record. The base has spoken — loud and clear.
