Today is a horrible day for @BlitzitApp.
We're a small startup with around 10,000 total users, 3K paid. Growing every single day. If you check us on Trustpilot, Product Hunt, anywhere, you'll find a committed, raving fan base. We run one of the biggest productivity Discord servers out there, ranked number one for the keyword "productivity." Until a month ago every piece of public opinion about us is overwhelmingly positive.
And today, for the second time, @Google has suspended our @Firebase backend. No warning. No lead time. No clear explanation.
Here's what happened. The primary email on our Firebase account was tied to a @GoogleWorkspace that got suspended 2 weeks ago. They make it almost impossible to transfer the primary owner email... This one suspension cascaded into taking down the entire backend that our platform runs on. Every user. Every task. Every piece of data. Inaccessible.
This first happened two weeks ago. We went through the appeal process, which didn't even resolve it. We ended up having to manually reinstate our Firebase project through another owner tied to the account, without access to the primary Workspace owner. And now it's happened again. We are on a pay-as-you-go plan. We are a paying customer. And this is how we get treated.
Let me put this in perspective. Companies like @stripe resolves issues almost immediately. Even @Meta's ad platform, at least responds the next day. Google? 72 hours. Minimum. With zero indication that they care about the impact on your business while you wait.
Last week I tweeted about how this same Workspace suspension that restricted access to my YouTube channel with thousands of followers. No warning, no communication, just a vague "policy breach" and a full suspension. That was bad enough. Now the same issue has come back and taken down our entire product. It's not just my content anymore. It's our users' data.
If anyone at Google sees this, something has to change. You cannot offer services that businesses build their entire infrastructure on and then pull the rug with no warning, no escalation path, and a 72-hour response time. That is not sustainable for any founder or any business.
We are going to lose trust over this. We are going to lose users. I genuinely don't know if we can recover without starting almost from scratch.
Google, you are a trillion-dollar company. You should be able to move faster than 72 hours for a paying customer. Put us through a proper support process. We deserve better.
Please help us.

🚨 The guy who made taxi drivers homeless is back. And this time he's coming for everyone.
Let me remind you what Travis Kalanick actually did.
He built Uber. Told drivers they were independent entrepreneurs. He gave them just enough money to keep driving. Then spent every dollar of profit trying to replace them with self-driving cars.
The drivers weren't the business from start, they were the placeholder until the robots were ready..
That was 2012.
Now it's 2026 and he's not even pretending anymore. He's skipping the human part entirely.. Straight to AI and robotics.
Last time he "disrupted" an industry, 300,000 taxi drivers lost their livelihoods.
Medallions that families saved their whole lives to buy went from $1.3 million to $100K.
Drivers in New York were taking their own lives. Eight taxi drivers died by suicide in one year.
Nobody called it a crisis, they called it innovation.
And the same people who clapped for that are about to clap for this.
He didn't learn a lesson.. He learned a playbook. Use humans until the machines are ready. Then throw the humans away..
Last time it was drivers. This time it's everyone.
And one day your grandkid is gonna ask you what your job was. And you're gonna have to explain that it doesn't exist anymore. And that the guy who deleted it announced it on Twitter. And everyone liked the tweet.

Last year I posted 500 open positions for my company.
We hired 34 people.
The other 466 jobs were never real.
I'm the Head of Talent Acquisition.
That's not what I acquire.
What I acquire is data.
Resumes, salary expectations, skill sets, market intelligence.
160,000 applicants gave us their career history for free.
We used it to benchmark compensation.
Not to raise salaries.
To confirm we were paying below market and get away with it.
I call it "building a talent pipeline."
A pipeline is a thing you build and never turn on.
Recruiters call this "passive sourcing."
There is nothing passive about wasting 160,000 people's time.
But it sounds like a strategy.
Some of our listings have been posted for 11 months.
One has been up for two years.
It's for a "Director of Innovation."
We don't have an innovation department.
We don't have the budget.
But the listing makes us look like we're growing.
Investors see open roles and think momentum.
Our stock went up 8% after we posted 200 jobs in one week.
We didn't hire anyone that week.
Or the week after.
We have an applicant tracking system.
It auto-rejects 95% of applicants.
Based on keywords.
I don't know what keywords.
No one does.
It was configured in 2019 by a contractor who no longer works here.
We've never updated it.
Some applicants spend hours customizing their resumes.
The system reads them for six seconds.
Then it sends a rejection email.
"After careful consideration."
There was no consideration.
Careful or otherwise.
I know this because I'm the one who wrote the template.
Sometimes I repost the same job with a different title.
"Senior Data Analyst" becomes "Data Analytics Lead."
Same description.
Same salary.
Same no one getting hired.
But it resets the posting date.
Fresh listings get more applicants.
More applicants means more data.
More data means better benchmarking.
Better benchmarking means I present at the quarterly review.
I presented last quarter.
I showed a slide that said we "received unprecedented candidate interest."
160,000 people applied for jobs that didn't exist.
That's the unprecedented interest.
The VP of People called it "brand strength."
The CFO asked about our hiring efficiency.
I said we were "optimizing for quality over speed."
Quality means we haven't hired anyone.
Speed means we don't plan to.
HR asked about candidate experience.
I showed them our NPS score.
It was 12.
Out of 100.
I said that was "within industry range."
I made up the industry range.
No one checked.
They never do.
Last month a candidate emailed me directly.
She said she'd applied to four roles over eight months.
Customized every resume. Wrote every cover letter.
Never heard back.
She asked if the jobs were real.
I sent her to the automated FAQ.
The FAQ says "We value every application."
That's not true.
We value every data point.
There's a difference.
I'm up for promotion.
My metrics are outstanding.
500 roles posted. 160,000 applicants captured.
Cost per acquisition: $0.
I didn't acquire anyone.
But the cost was zero.
Zero is a good number in a dashboard.
Dashboards get presented.
Presentations get approved.
Approvals get me promoted.
I'll be VP of Talent by Q4.
I don't find talent.
I collect it.
Like a jar you never open.
