@DaveyBoi73 The comet is expected to reach a furthest distance of 3800 times the distance between the Sun and Earth. That is about the inner edge of the Oort cloud, which stretches at least ten times further out.

@KeeleObs What's the furthest distance from the Earth will this comet go? Is that in the Oort Cloud or beyond it?

Finally got a clear evening before comet Tuschinshan-ATLAS will have faded away - just about visible with the unaided eye, with a 4-degree tail in 15x70 binoculars.

@chrislintott (personal reply from Jacco van Loon) I agree a name change is needed. "Milky" clouds may cause confusion, but it is as they appear, as is "Milky" way. it probably still is the best way to name them. We should distinguish appearance (Milky Way) from physical entity (Galaxy).

The proposal to rename the Magellanic Clouds is very well meaning, but the proposed alternative- the Milky Clouds - would be a disaster, causing confusion with the Milky Way. I hope the IAU votes against.

Fantastic to see a woman fly on a Moon mission, but still just one in a crew of four - to make up for the all male Apollo crews shouldn't the Artemis crews be all non male?
