If you’re ever unfortunate enough to see an engine failure like this on the aircraft you’re travelling in, a couple of reasons you don’t need to be scared (Although I understand it’s human nature).. 1) Firstly it’s very rare. Most pilots are likely to have one engine failure per career as new engines are VERY reliable. 2) The flight crew train and are tested for this exact scenario every 6 months in the simulator. Dealing with one becomes second nature as we’ve practised it so often. 3) Our first priority is making sure the aircraft is flying somewhere safe (Away from terrain) so the fire might not get extinguished immediately. The engine is designed to contain it in the meantime. 4) Lastly, and don’t take this the wrong way, communicating with the cabin is a fair way down the priority list so it might be a while before we speak to you. This does not mean it’s not being dealt with. #avgeek #avgeeks #aviation

I’ve said this before, but being a genuinely kind and authentic person who expresses your vulnerabilities and/or doesn’t follow certain unspoken “social hierarchy” rules will put a major target on your back by those who see those traits as “performative” or even manipulative/deceitful. People who consistently view others that way are telling on themselves. How we perceive the world (including other people) mirrors the conditions of our own inner world. A healthy person does not interpret basic consideration as some kind of control tactic. A grounded person does not consistently assume the worst of others. Doing so will either 1. eventually create a self-fulfilling prophecy, or, 2. result in the cognitive distortion of “confirmation bias,” where the other person cannot “win” no matter what they do because you have already decided their intentions or motivations for them.

Dakota Johnson failed an audition because she was deemed "cocky" and full of herself for shaking hands with everyone in the room. “I had an audition once, and it was a callback, and I went into the room, and I shook everyone’s hand and introduced myself. Then I did the scene, and I left. The feedback I got was that because I had gone and introduced myself and shook everyone’s hand is that I was pompous. That I was schmoozing, and I was full of myself, and I was like: ‘What?’ I didn’t get the job because they said that I was being cocky, but I just had manners… It was pretty crazy.” (via Hits Radio) variety.com/2026/film/news…

It’s fine to not have sex. Sex positivity, the theory, hasn’t ever suggested such. However, viewing sex between men and women as inherently degrading for women is harmful and doesn’t make your line of thinking much different from the misogynistic men you say you hate.
