@MulhollandL0ver The whole comment thread proves heterosexuality is not a choice. Who in their right mind would choose people like that?

Y’all be working overtime to dunk on plus-size women. She didn’t even say anything wrong. The fatphobia is crazy.

@KleinTurkey @JoyceCarolOates In schools around here, parents who bitch can often get their child excuse from such assignments. This isn’t a “common courtesy,” like holding a door open for the person behind you, a gesture with no downside. TWs can’t be “unheard” by those who never asked for them.

even if this were true, how could it possibly be substantiated? it's hard not to consider the imposition of "trigger warnings" as a form of censorship that would be total if the US were a bit more authoritarian but which already exists in some states & school districts.
Rob True@RobTrueStories

@MollyKateBritt1 @bryanblears @JoyceCarolOates Studies show trigger warnings to be ineffective. Usually increasing anxiety before the reader reads, often to higher levels than would've been experienced without.

@thequeerjudas @JoyceCarolOates Literary works are not completely optional if they are assigned for a class though. What's the big deal about telling the class it might disturb some? Total overreaction to common courtesy.

@KleinTurkey @JoyceCarolOates I never used the word censor. I just said it was pointless. All studies show TW cause more anxiety, not less.

@RobTrueStories @JoyceCarolOates News stories also tend to be dark. And some literature is light. I just don't see how saying something might trigger a rape victim is censoring content. Everyone can read it still.

One of my favorite dress shops- a modest old fashioned linen company- featured a man modeling their dresses. They’re down 1,000 followers and the comments are a dumpster fire for them. I truly do not understand what they expected. Who do they think their audience is?

@LiviRichelle @ALT_uscis It makes sense unless the wife gave up career progression to raise children. Women have to realize that it's not worth that now and prioritize their economic security.

@DudespostingWs He did the right thing, but it's sick to take joy in your kid suffering even if they made a bad choice. So a big L.

Yes you’re less attractive at 35 than at 25 as a woman. This used to be common sense 50 years ago.

Running Twitter is hard. I don’t wish that stress upon anyone. I trust that the team is doing their best under the constraints they have, which are immense. It’s easy to critique the decisions from afar…which I’m guilty of…but I know the goal is to see Twitter thrive. It will.

it’s really less about whether one type of govt aid equates with another and more about whether US can afford aid to ANYONE at this stage. even if you take the modern economist view, with $32 trillion in debt, the govt can’t afford more aid, just like I can’t afford to give 50% of my paycheck to the American Heart Association … I would love to, but can’t without being unable to feed my family

When it comes to student loan forgiveness, I understand both sides of the argument. When it comes to PPP loans I also understand both sides of the argument. There is no right side or wrong side. There are just opinions. With that said, however, I find it extremely hypocritical that many of those who supported PPP loans are highly against forgiving student loans. I personally believe investing in education should be a top priority in America. Whether it is public schooling, colleges, trade schools or specialty schools, it’s an investment worth making. I personally would prefer to see government funding of education than loan forgiveness. The government should pay for college and help young adults learn new trades. It will ultimately increase our productivity as a nation.
