Great to have our own, even walking past and seeing the window displays is a boost. All my recent orders have been from there, and Ruth is also great recirculating our old books too.

Someone walked past & said ‘there’s never anybody in there’ we locked eyes through the window & I said loudly ‘I can hear you.’ I’m not sure if I’m cross or sad, or both. We have loved every single one of our many visitors and customers. So love to you all, and all indie shops.

This news has literally blown me out of the ocean - I never thought awards & prizes were for writers like me, so this shortlist announcement I dedicate to every one of you that grew up in rural poverty and who think that their story doesn't matter, let me tell you, it bloody does
