Great day at #RCOT2021. So enjoyed Science of Happiness, actively examining our thought processes to choose positivity, and ended with learning/CPD opportunities using OT podcasts. Thank you @RCOT for a phenomenally well organized & presented virtual conference. Super-impressed!!

Reality check today at #RCOT2021 by Prof Sir Michael Marmot about the factors contributing to health inequity in the UK. Highlighted the need to really examine whole-system service provision and focus it where it is needed most. @SomersetCouncil @SomersetOT

Shared the amazing work our OTs do with @SomersetCouncil's wider ASC team today. Last thought for the week: 'the highs and the lows are shared with a pretty special bunch, supporting one another through it all, so we can support others. Why #ChooseOT? Because it's awesome!' @RCOT

Lynsey, an aspiring OT on our internal development programme, said about OT: 'I love that it helps the individual to see the potential they can have … I love that this profession uses a person-centred approach, focusing on the individual’s strengths.' #ChooseOT @SomersetCouncil

I 'fell' into OT after an injury meant that my chosen career in ballet was no longer possible. Shadowing an OT in preparation for the course, I was struck by her passionate advocacy for those she worked with. 22 years on, I still see this every day. #ChooseOT @SomersetCouncil

I love being an Occupational therapist. Working alongside people gives a privileged insight into the rich tapestry of their lives. My role is to help them darn the small holes which occur over time so that unique tapestry stays whole strong and colourful to the end.#ChooseOT
