Nigerian troops have repelled a terrorist attack in Kukareta, Yobe State, killing 24 insurgents, including commander Abu Umar Bundi Munzir.

A major breakthrough has been recorded in Plateau State as troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE successfully carried out a high-impact rescue mission in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, reinforcing ongoing efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks and protect citizens. The operation, conducted on April 25, followed the abduction of a female victim from the Bauna area of Shendam LGA on April 19. Acting on credible intelligence and information obtained from an arrested suspect who confessed to the crime, troops were able to trace the victim to a hideout in the Padam Forest within Qua’an Pan LGA. In a well-coordinated and carefully executed mission, the troops stormed the location, rescued the victim unharmed, and recovered the sum of ₦8 million that had earlier been paid as ransom by her family. The victim was promptly taken to the General Hospital in Shendam for medical evaluation before being safely reunited with her loved ones. The recovered ransom was also returned to the family, bringing both relief and closure after a distressing ordeal. Beyond the immediate success, troops have continued follow-up operations across Qua’an Pan and Shendam LGAs to track down and apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.
