@hlnewey No. We all know working with ACPs theyre not equivalent to ST3s. They never will be. They might be able to do a few similar tasks but no theyre not ST3 level. RCEM fucked things up with this tiered nonsense.

Lots of IMGs talking about US matching and UK policy. Let’s compare who can apply for training: US - insane STEP 1/2 - USCE - expensive entry - plenty of jobs UK - PLAB - no clinical experience needed - CREST signed off by anyone - cheaper entry - no jobs

Dr Elaine is the UK’s first deaf/blind doctor. She is under multiple specialists in London. She is on 24 hour LTOT. Her request to be pre-allocated to London was declined and was allocated Dorset. This is a catastrophic failure by the @UKFPO, who simply isn’t hated enough.

GMC emails need really work on their tone. The second email reminder about updating designated body does not need to be a threat that in 30 days will begin process of revoking my license. Stop being so melodramatic.

@DrETKandi Er I think thats extreme. It is still a relatively well paid job. No ones entitled to a training job in another country

The BMA saying IMGs must do 5 years of working in non-progressive roles to be able to qualify to start training sounds not so far from modern slavery to me - you may say this is extreme but if you look at the sort of rotas some JCFs are subject to? It’s an apt description.

The gravy train has arrived at its final destination. Clearly the increase in ratios for Psych and GP wasn’t the success of #choosepsychiatry as lauded by @wendyburn et. al but just the path of least resistance for IMGs with nothing to lose. No more!

Of course I know there are legitimate reasons that this happens but is there anything worse than chairing a meeting on teams with 20 people that all have their camera switched off?

Kids who grew up "academically gifted" are now socially anxious adults who have thousands of abandoned hobbies, struggling to make minor decisions on their own and develop a highly unfunny trait or they are doctors

Free accommodation No student loan House price ~7x starting salary Yet doesn't understand why current resident doctors are unhappy with their pay I'd laugh out loud if it wasn't so depressing.

@dieracg @anaesthetic_spr I teach on various life support courses, its very interesting how the feedback sessions go. The nurses advocate for the nurses and the doctors get criticised, usually with glee. You tell mr why am ACP would ever get IPd over an anaesthetic consultant??

@anaesthetic_spr One of the many reasons that ALS is largely a waste of time is that it has long become a vehicle for exactly this kind of resus wanker.

- 9yo boy referred to A&E by GP with suspected appendicitis - Never seen by a doctor. The hospital says it ‘couldn’t identify who saw the patient’ - Discharged - Getting worse, his father calls 111 (non-emergency line) - No answer for 2h, is triaged to get a call back from a clinician - Gets even worse. Parents take him back to A&E. - Diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and dies of septic shock. leighday.co.uk/news/press-rel…

CT1 Anaes interview offers being released today & I’m hearing rumours the MSRA cutoff could be as high as 570 which is a ridiculously high score. This would mean thousands of capable docs being left behind. I really don’t understand how RcoA or ANYONE can justify AAs in the NHS

@MedRegoncall1 I bet it’s a triple-blinded study: the patient doesn’t know who’s seeing them, the ACP doesn’t know what they’re doing, and the regulators are looking the other way.
