If you just want a machine that will print, for the most part the bambu changes will not effect much for you. Hopefully they walk thing back, but I'm not confident.

@LotsName @joshdanielsjr @BambulabGlobal Prusa was my alternative... I really don't know which one to consider getting now, though I suppose if I had to choose I'd trust an EU company more. Don't suppose anyone out there can recommend something?

I disagree; Prusa has a GitHub with all its firmware available to the public. It may have some mechanical components of the machine (XL) that it keeps close to its chest, but it contributes to the community a hell of a lot more than it takes. Bambu has done nothing but take from the community.

@joshdanielsjr @BambulabGlobal Prusa isn't really opensource either anymore. Their new machine lacks any mention of it being open source, and the prusa XL isn't either.
