ESPN Sources: Florida Atlantic’s Dusty May has agreed on a deal to become the next coach at the University of Michigan. Andy Miller — May’s representative with Klutch Sports — is completing details with school officials on a long-term contract tonight.

BREAKING: This is just a small update on my previous tiered candidate list post which is quoted below. Given the timeline is being pushed due to interviews/vetting and Alabama winning. New candidates are emerging now. I will post a new list after this. Tier 1 (6 candidates): 1) Kalen DeBoer - Still in play. Moving to a tier 2 candidate now. 2) Kenny Dillingham - No longer in play. Michigan did not have serious interest and Dillingham knew it. 3) Jeff Brohm - Talks and interviews taking place. Strong contingent against an offer. But could happen. 4) Lincoln Riley - Didn't pass vetting. (Have to play school too) 5) Steve Sarkisian - Moving to tier 2 now. 6) ? (Big time and totally unexpected, will set off a chain reaction) But threat of leaving. - Moving to tier 3 now because they will wait out NFL offers first. Tier 2 (3 candidates): 1) Mike Elko - Still in play. 2) ? (Proven success with NIL and good culture) - Still in play 3) ? (Someone no one is talking about) - Still in play Tier 3 (7 candidates) : 1) Jesse Minter 2) John Harbaugh 3) Kelvin Shepard 4) ? (But with the packers currently) - Adam Stemovich (could leave early and join Michigan) 5) ? (Great offensive mind and QB developer) - Still in play 6) ? Fox Sports Joel Klatt believes Jeff Brohm is still at play in the Michigan coaching search. FOX is the broadcasting home to the Big Ten conference.
