@anthonyctan @MMDA Before those stoplights were installed, heavy traffic ends in Ortigas-Bonny intersection. Right now it extends to Gilmore intersection. Basta basta nalang sila naglagay ng stoplight without proper study.

#mmda #mmdatyourservice #Bayanihan

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently conducted a comprehensive Disaster Waste Management (DWM) Workshop for Pasay City government to strengthen its capacity in addressing waste challenges during and after disasters. Led by the MMDA Solid Waste Management Office (SWMO), the workshop served as a platform for the introduction of the DWM Guidelines for Local Government Units (LGUs), a comprehensive manual designed to streamline the collection, segregation, and disposal of disaster-generated debris. Technical expertise was provided by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, alongside Mr. Shintaro Higashi of the NTT Data Institute of Management Consulting Inc., who shared methodologies for disaster waste estimation based on Japanese experience. The University of the Philippines Diliman Institute of Civil Engineering and AMH Philippines also enriched the discussions by presenting key considerations in developing a DWM plan, ensuring technical rigor and practical applicability. The Pasay City Environment and Natural Resources Office (PCENRO) complemented these inputs by sharing their Disaster Risk Management Plan, aligning local strategies with broader disaster resilience goals. As part of its technical assistance to LGUs, the MMDA plans to share the outputs of the initiative with other LGUs once finalized and materialized, to support wider replication and scaling of effective DWM practices across Metro Manila. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of integrating international expertise, academic knowledge, and local planning to build a comprehensive and actionable DWM framework for Pasay City, ultimately enhancing resilience and safeguarding communities against disaster impacts. #mmda
