It’s a big day, work hard, be kind

Summer camp 2023 is done along with my time at Melksham Oak. I am physically and emotionally broken but so very proud of everyone who was on summer camp. It means everything to me. Thank you students, leaders and staff. You are incredible!

With DofE done, it must be time for Summer Camp. This could get emotional!

Finally thank you to the many teachers and staff who have helped me over the years either on exped or back at school.

So today marks my last day of DofE whilst at MOCS. It’s been an honour to support and encourage something like 1000 young people through their exped and award. I hope that I’ve been able to help build confidence and inspire whilst developing a love for the outdoors.

Day 4 and they’ve finished. An amazing group who I’ve been privileged to work with this year. Enjoy your rest team!

Day 2 ✔️ tomorrows a big day for our Dofe gold team. Doing amazing so far team!

Day 1 of Gold and it’s a strong start from the team. Not bad view either. Which tent shall I sleep in?

I know I say this a lot but DofE students are pretty cool! Our silver group have been incredible over the last few days and I’m proud to have helped them complete their exped. One more to go; must be Gold!

Congratulations to all the year 9s who completed their bronze assesses expedition in incredibly hot conditions. You smashed it

Well done Josh. You’ve completed Bronze, Silver and Gold before leaving 6th form. Some achievement! I’m super proud!

DofE Bronze training weekend done. 50 kids in some soggy weather. I think I worked through Plan A, B & C. Well done to the students who all smashed it after very little sleep. Special shout out to the group that took 30 mins rescuing a lost boot from the mud. Character building!

The first DofE exped of the year done and it’s been a great one. Well done to our year 12s on completing their gold practice. A really solid performance from all. Thanks to Mrs Andrews and to Top Dog Harry. @PMelkshamoak @melksham6thform
