People like Zach Synder. People like James Gunn. The problem here is that DC movies have to be for everyone and that’s the issue. The best years of marvel were because the majority of the movies were consistent in quality. They had nothing to do with the filmmakers but rather an overarching plan. It’s clear that this new era of DC is just what James Gunn wants, similar to the last era where it was what Zack Synder wanted. While this new era is clearly not for me, I hope that if they continue it that they allow James Gunn to just live out his vision and move on. That’s what bothered me the most about the Synder era. They didn’t let him make his movies. They kept interfering. If you are going to allow a creative to have a vision, just accept that not everyone is going to like it. I’m not going to like Gunn’s version of DC but clearly others will. And that’s okay. But let’s not pretend this is anything different than the synderverse except so far, Gunn has full creative control.
