@Texas_Danimal77 Correct. Especially the series vs the Celtics last year. They’ve won big series and then lost big series. So they know to not get ahead of themselves.

This post struck a nerve. Let me explain. I love seeing Wemby’s emotion. It’s good for basketball. It’s a legitimate reaction. He is the face of the league for the next 20 years. But I don’t think Jalen Brunson and the Knicks would get so emotional after winning a conference final Game 7, even against the defending champs in a close game. The Knicks are fully locked in, laser focused, battle tested and on a mission. The Spurs are younger and less emotionally mature. That difference is ok, and it’s one of the storylines that makes this an intriguing Finals matchup. And one of many factors that may play a deciding role in these Finals. Keep an eye on this. If the Knicks can somehow beat Wemby, it will be in part because of their mentality. They never took their foot off the gas, never got too comfortable, never got too high or too low at any point in this playoff run. One more thing: I don’t think its a coincidence that the same Wemby who got so emotional winning the WCF also got himself suspended for elbowing Naz Reid in the throat. Brunson wants to win as badly as he does, but he has ice water in his veins.

@yg_thrasher @NathanHawk307 Right. The point is Chet was playing timid vs Wemby instead of being aware of the foul situation. Charge the basket. There’s a good chance Wemby lays off or that you knock him out of the game.

With Wemby in the paint, I think there is a legit chance the Knicks win but Brunson won’t be Finals MVP. Could be KAT, if he can neutralize Wemby. Or a roleplayer like OG or Bridges, if they can hit their 3s and play lockdown defense.
