@Emma_Turner75 This is very interesting. As a middle school educator I wish students would write by hand more often. So many of them have awful handwriting and I think that is partly because they haven't practiced as much.

This is such an important consideration when thinking about how learning happens. It's not about being a luddite or a technophobe or being wedded to the past, or not embracing change; it's about recognising that handwriting has a markedly different impact on the brain.

@jamesballif Working at a middle school, I see this all the time. It is one of the biggest problems. Of course you have the students that are intrinsically motivated and will do their best regardless. But many students are apathetic and it is so hard to reach them.

This is a huge problem. We move kids on in elementary without mastery of grade level content as well!

Question for teachers and librarians. I know the school year is over but I have so many author copies of books and I’m running out of space. If I offered a large domestic flat rate box of books and stuffed it full and you just paid the cost of shipping would you want/need them?
