I see Reform Boy’s up to his old tricks:
1/ The is no “our oil and gas”. Extraction, refining, & distribution were privatised 40 years ago.
2/ The U.K uses 100% of North Sea gas and can only refine 20% of its oil.
4/ A tiny amount of new North Sea supply won’t change prices.

I’d like to know all your opinions in the comments? I’ve just paid £1.70 a litre for diesel. Why are we not opening up our gas and oil field in the North Sea? Surely by opening these and sourcing from our own reserves, we will bring our prices of fuel down, energy costs down, create jobs, bring revenue and tax into the UK economy that can be spent on the roads, the NHS, UK services and schools. We continue to source our fuel from abroad and it makes no sense to me! We should be backing our UK manufacturing and not let it go abroad! We live in very uncertain times especially what’s going on in the Middle East. Love to hear your opinion, let’s back Britain 🇬🇧 - Bosh ❤️

Tony Benn passed away over a decade ago today. I met him a couple of times and speak passionately and ever so eloquently. I can just hear him now, ripping into the US-Israel lies and bloodthirst against #Iran. So missed.

Over the years I’ve been in many towns and cities when they were being bombed — in a few cases (Baghdad, Belgrade etc) by my own country. No matter what the justification, most of the victims have been entirely innocent. I’ve come to loathe the very thought of aerial bombardment.

@owenjonesjourno I never agreed much with Tony, but used to love our chats. He would come out of his house and say his wife would be 5 mins and we’d have a natter…like most people on the left, nicer man than he came across on tv & radio….

Tony Benn died 12 years ago today.
An endlessly courageous voice for socialism, democracy and peace - who inspired me and so many others.
His legacy lives on in our endless struggle against all forms of violence, bigotry, oppression and exploitation.
RIP Tony
