@insideoutkoaro . @annecollier timely issue in #nz regarding public’s right to information vrs. protecting the privacy of youth. What guidance can the Convention on the Rights of the Child provide?

Apologies we were incorrect in our original tweet -schools are in fact obliged to respond to official information requests from the public, however responding to these particular questions would be a breach of the Privacy Act. We will be able to share more for schools later today

We are aware that intermediate and secondary schools are receiving an email requesting data about trans students and enrollment, from a group posing to be an OIA request. Schools are not obliged to respond to it and would likely breach the Privacy Act 2020 if they do.

It is an honor to work with these amazing young developers and watch how they thrive when space is created for them to create. Kudos to @d4ni31mi113r for leading the @MiniDevsNIS this year & @theta for your vision and commitment to fostering our next gen of developers.
