I can do this all day, 3 days a week on public land before driving home to my climate controlled house while being allowed to say what I want and carry a gun. Yes, I do believe my standard of living is better than the average European

@MacrinaJP @AKmountain_guy different experience - I lived in Germany in the early 1990s and it was fine. Different, but fine. I rented half a house and didn't have issues with hot water. Really liked their windows. People seemed to be doing ok.

I've lived in Europe. The quality of life for the middle class is astoundingly bad. And this was 20 years ago. Apparently, there's even more of a disparity now. They aren't impoverished, but things that are standard in America are considered luxury items there. In my apt, I had to turn on the (communal to each floor) water heater 20 min before showering, and only had 5 min of hot water, for instance. I have to do that in my RV, or when at an off-grid cabin, not in my home. This was completely normal for them. My buddy had an instant hot water heater on his shower head that got to tepid at best. Our QOL is embarrassingly better, the excess that we have by comparison should make them rage at their govts for holding them back.

To many who have actually seen combat, know how this female officer feels. To have a man, come from behind in the SAME direction as the shooter was, would startle any seasoned officer. This was a tragic case of misidentification in an extremely tense situation. Her partner has just been shot. Shooter mere feet away. Then this guy casually strolls up behind her in what appears to be complete silence. What would YOU have done?

Ugh I hate these things. I’m standing at the door too. This isn’t a racial thing. It’s a generational thing. I have many stories. But I also broke the cycle, my kids are highly educated, successful, loved, know God. My mom told me recently that older white men are the problem in our country. -signed, 60 yr old white guy. If we start trying to know each other, we stop judging each other. Please.
