(For those of you not on the GeriatricBook): my friend, colleague, and co-author Scott McClurg has lost his long-drawn and difficult fight against cancer.
He is one of the strongest, most inspirational people I've had the privilege of knowing. His memory will always inspire a smile and love for me and all who knew him.
The article below is part of the relatively unknown story of the causes of Scott's (and many others') struggles. As someone who also grew up too close to a similar area (google "Cheshire, OH"), and lost both his parents to cancer, this story is way too relatable.
