Today, two miniature copies of the Qur'an, each approx. 5 cm. A square one from @GripTheRaven, Lewis O 181, w/a carrying case, unfortunately not digitized. The other, octagonal, from @upennlib, Ms. Codex 1909. That one is digitized, you can see it here: openn.library.upenn.edu/Data/0002/html…

This week, we'll look at small size manuscripts, not all miniatures, technically, but they are all easy to carry around! We'll start with an amulet copy of the Qur'an. A 4.5 cm across copy with a carrying case from @GripTheRaven, this is Lewis O 6. here: archive.org/details/lewis_…

And here's a copy of the Qur'an made on Malta. From @upennlib, this is Ms. Codex 1904. It is missing the first leaf, but contains the colophon which gives the date of copy as well the copyist's name, that he is a prisoner and some curses for Malta. Here: archive.org/details/mscode…
