@Fightincowboy Sounds like something out of an MMO system which makes sense given that leaks from Peal Abyss now say the game started off as an MMO but was changed later on to be single player experience. Dev cycle was apparently hell and many designs and controls were rushed to before release

The biggest problem with Crimson Desert progression which a lot of folks haven't experienced yet just getting started is that Artifacts are shared between all characters so if you want to try out Damiane or Oongka, you're respeccing all your points from Kliff.

@Weak3n It’s either a tax write off or these devs have no clue what they are doing. A 3v3 in this day n age in the fps market is crazy. No marketing and relying on Game Awards showcase to carry the interest

Maybe it's just me but I feel like the market for masculine, non conventionally attractive female leads in games isn't as big as the video game industry thinks it is

Hello! I’m a Japanese high school student, and I’d like to share my thoughts on the recent discussions about racism in Japanese anime. First, Japan is an island nation, and we don’t encounter foreigners in our daily lives as often as people might think. Given this reality, it’s natural that Japanese school settings in anime predominantly feature Japanese characters—it reflects the world we live in. Moreover, I question the need to reimagine existing characters as Black or from other ethnic backgrounds. If the story’s world already includes characters of diverse ethnicities, that makes sense. However, many Japanese anime depict everyday life in Japan, where such diversity is not as common. This isn’t about exclusion or discrimination; it’s about portraying a realistic environment based on our experiences. I believe most Japanese creators aren’t trying to be discriminatory—they’re simply sharing stories that are authentic to their culture and surroundings.

1. Criticizing someone for their behavior is not "attacking." I didn't say anything incorrect, impolite, or slanderous to him. Criticism is necessary for a health democracy and economy. 2. You clearly do care about how many followers people have because you say I'm jealous of his follower count, which implies you are actually fixated on follower counts. 3. More importantly, if he's so powerful and successful why does he need someone like you to defend him? He doesn't, and if he's asking you to do this then that's pretty bad. I'm sure though he's the type of man who didn't ask you to help him fight his fights. 4. If you feel some need to defend him, then I suggest you read about the damage certain parasocial relationships can do to you and try to avoid them. 5. Finally, you can't just claim "you proved my point" without explaining why. Simply saying that is effectively you admitting you lost this argument and have no way to counter, so hopefully you're man enough to apologize for harassing someone who didn't say a single thing directly to you.

I've gradually adopted the opinion that any streamers or youtubers who receive early promotional access to a video game should be required to label all the videos about that game as "ads" for a period of time. Let's take Dragon's Dogma 2 as an example of why: 1. Capcom gave a bunch of content creators a 2 week (IIIRC) access to the game under an embargo, which means they're allowed to play the game for the purposes of review but have to wait for release day before they can talk about it. 2. Giving reviewers free access to a game is not a problem, the _problem_ is that these content creators got a whole 2 weeks recording advantage over everyone else. 3. This 2 week lead time gives these creators the ability to prime videos to drop for release day that then gobble up all the views for the game's release day. In the case of DD2, creators like @Fightincowboy dropped multiple videos before everyone else (after embargo) that received hundreds of thousands of views. 4. As we all know, views make money because people have limited time. If you'd seen a couple of playthroughs of DD2 you're probably not going to watch more, so these early access creators can easily flood the market and extract more money than others who have to wait. 5. Given this early access gives them big money pops on launch day, gives them an advantage over others, and only happens because they're given special access by the company, it makes sense that early access to a game should be considered a paid promotion. 6. This also explains why creators like @Fightincowboy would call a game like DD2 a "Masterpiece" when it clearly wasn't. They want the game to be popular so that they get more viewers on their early video drops. 7. I think a reasonable way to do this is any videos you create based on early access have to be tagged as paid promotion for the same duration as the early access. If you got DD2 for 2 weeks before everyone else, then all of your DD2 videos are marked paid promotion for 2 weeks, because you are literally making money due to your early access and that biases your videos to be promotional. 8. Finally, the way to support journalists who need access to do reviews simply say, this rule only applies if your access is greater than 1 day. A journalist should be able to play a game for a day to write an article, and anyone who has > 1 day access is mostly like going to content farm using their early access. 9. Another option is to say your first video can be labeled a "review" and doesn't have to be called a "paid promotion", but then you'd have to wait the embargo length (2 weeks in this example) before posting more, or label your videos paid promotion. Just a random gaming industry thought that's too small for a blog post.
