I'm excited about our final Twitter chat tomorrow! My biggest takeaway from this year is that we need to collaborate and work together to maximize our areas of expertise. #CISDLearns

@SamJKNeal @coppelldlc Aww, thanks sweet friend! Love sharing insight!

@kskilly118 Great idea. Give ownership to learners. #CISDLearns
English

A5) I have noticed that most campuses and even departments have sunshine committees, I wonder if each class could have a sunshine committee to give learners ownership of creating a positive classroom environment by coming up with games/activites for creation. #CISDLearns
English

A5: I love seeing lessons where learners are given a supply of materials with a challenge to create. Learners can quickly make connections from simple office and craft supplies to content they have been learning and explain their thinking through creative design. #CISDlearns

A5 Learners love to see playful adults. Ask them what they want/need. #CISDLearns

@LearnwithMrsJ Your gift is sketchnoting! I will hire you to take my notes.
English

A4 I used to spend more time hand-lettering and sketch-noting to tap into my creative side. Sadly, I have let this practice fall off in the midst of crisis. I'm looking for a new hobby to practice on my day of rest -- suggestions welcomed! #CISDlearns

@PriscillaShaner @SLeishmanDCE YES! Get back to the track and audiobook! Great idea!
English

@SLeishmanDCE For a while, I was going outside during my lunch to walk the track while listening to an audiobook. Then I let myself get too busy to take a full 30 min lunch. I need to go back to taking care of me and resting for 30 min. #CISDlearns

A3: I walked in on a grade level team who were doing a yoga break together on a planning day. Following their lead, I love the idea of intentionally setting time for these mindful moments not just with learners but also with our teams and colleagues. #CISDLearns
English

A4) luckily my 3 year old keeps me playing everyday! Little ones are the best at coming up with games for any supplies they can get their hands on. #CISDLearns
English

A4 I feel like my mantra is play. Make people laugh, have fun, be a positive force. #CISDLearns
English

A3: Sharing activities with learners is key. Breathing, mindfulness. Learners need to be taught to play and create. It isn't intuitive. The older I get, the more I value reflection and mindfulness. #CISDLearns

@YaBoyStevieP I feel like it took COVID for me to leave work on time and not work on weekends, in 13 years! Now I can't go back. I love having more time with my family and for myself. #CISDLearns

A2. Learning to stop work when the school day is over has been a learning curve for me to say it’s okay to unwind. Spotify and Netflix are my rock; been streaming a lot of Phoebe Bridgers and Outlander. #cisdlearns
English

A3. I sent my students a Google form asking for some of their fav songs and I compiled them into a Spotify playlist to play. They get choice in what we listen to and I get to learn what they like. Also, anytime I can use The Office or Parks & Rec for laughs, I do lol. #cisdlearns
English

@missnatherson You are amazing with your learners. You understand what they need.

A3: We start our daily class meetings with a breathing strategy and daily gratitude. (We do meditation about 2x/week.) The kids lead all of this, including picking our breathing for the day. It's the BEST part of the day. #CISDLearns
English

@MrsKemper I'll share it with my campus. Thank you!

A3 I put this together a few days ago and would LOVE for someone to utilize it with their K-2 learners 🥰

@SamJKNeal I am right there with you, but I don't think it is mindful...I joke, kinda, that I have to exercise before my mind wakes up and realizes what I am having my body do. But if I don't do it early in the morning, it doesn't happen. #CISDLearns
English

A2 I get up extra-early each morning to exercise, whether that means raising my heart rate with a run or HIIT workout or something more relaxing like yoga or a walk. I am more physically, mentally, and emotionally ready for the day after a good workout!
