Ko Thein Sein
@NCAMastermind
Formerly a statesman. Now a sad man. Single most consequential President (not 'State Counsellor') in my country's history. Retweets are endorsed by EBO.

Sentinel passed over the village today and shows the extent of the destruction by the fire. Could be worse by now

Wholesalers, retailers and consumers in Myanmar are feeling the pain from a junta campaign to confiscate illegal imports that has raised commodity prices and brought new opportunities for corruption. #WhatsHappeninglnMyanmar Read here: frontiermyanmar.net/en/black-marke…

@MarkFarmaner Myanmar people living in the country are not in the activists’ bubble in, let’s say, London. They know sanctions do not work and are not calling for them. Instead, they want to work precisely because the situation is terrible.

speaking of the MIMU maps, and about crazy: - MIMU inscribes on their maps a word that Rohingya see as a slur, just b/c the state does. - The state also includes information on NaTaLa villages, which tells us exactly the location of its 1990s dispossession / colonization project

The AA is arguably the strongest ERO fighting the junta, and now controls most of northern Rakhine. Their targeting of the Rohingya population may play well politically in the short run, but the AA needs to think about the long game. My take. rfa.org/english/commen…
