Congratulations to our Henry County Chamber of Commerce award winners: NCHS Choir Director, Ethan Hutchinson, was selected as "Young Professional of the Year," and Nan Polk, Board Vice President, was honored as "Citizen of the Year!" We are so proud of our mighty Trojans!

This week, the NC Agriculture Institute began learning how the farming industry uses drones. Each student had a hand in flight training! #DefendTheCastle

Congratulations Lyla! She competed in the annual Optimist Oratorical speech contest. This year's topic was "The Moment I Realized I Belonged - My Definition of Community." Lyla will compete in the next round, April 28th.

Life Skills students got crafty today! They made homemade toys for their cats.

Huge thanks to the NC Fire & PD for their rapid response to Friday’s Career Center fire; their actions kept our students/staff safe & limited damage. Servpro worked Sat/Sun to ensure clean air quality. School will operate normally tomorrow with a few CC classes to be relocated.

Good afternoon, The NC Fire Department is currently addressing a situation in the Career Center wing of the High School. Smoke is coming from a dust collector. All student and staff are safe and we are using this as an unexpected Fire Drill.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, 3-12-26. JUNIORS: All Juniors will be taking the S.A.T exam at NCHS from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM. SENIORS: Use this day to job shadow or a college/vocational school visit! FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES: Grades 9 & 10 will follow a normal schedule.

Thanks to New Castle's Anytime Fitness and Carly Lawson, for turning classroom learning into a real-life field trip experience. Our students learned about Kinesiology, the study of the body, covering muscle contraction, joint action, functional movements, and movement patterns.
