@CodysLab You will likely achieve saponification. But the soap would be so hard it will just crumble and not produce any kind of lather. A lot of soaps are made up of several different fatty acids. Each one brings a different quality (lather, moisturizing, hardness, etc.)

Wiki: “Chemically, beeswax consists mainly of esters of fatty acids and various long-chain alcohols.” Fat (eg lard) is also an ester of fatty acids and a large alcohol (glyceride) right? So I should be able to make soap out of beeswax and lye water like I would any other fat?
