@msrukie1 This is very true. It's human to chisel R30 if I give you R100 to feed kids. Atleast that R70 will reach the kids.

While there may be a few genuine cases, it’s hard to ignore that many of these individuals who constantly solicit funds, whether to cook meals or buy items for the less privileged, have questionable intentions. It’s mostly not out of compassion, some are taking advantage of people’s goodwill and generosity for personal gain.

I go on Facebook once a year to check who still wishes me happy birthday. A few years ago I read a fascinating book on the Congolese Civil War, started looking up militia commanders who’d been interviewed, realised they all had Facebook accounts and started sending them friend requests so for a couple of years now I’ve received more happy birthday wishes from Congolese warlords than university friends.

@FaroukKhan9 In high school I job shadowed at the village at Ajax Cape Town for a week. Mushin was always reserved and very quiet, just drinking his coffee.

In my opinion this is the best way to manage the situation. Leave vrou and the kids in the house, make sure they have access to a reliable vehicle and maintain the status quo lifestyle wise. Nna ke le pantsula, I can be on my feet in a few weeks.
Mr Dlamini@Ant_089

Nothing as depressing as when a gent is going through a divorce and is now busy looking for apartments because he had to move out of the house so that at least the kid’s lives aren’t too disrupted.

@GUCCIAIRBAGZ @DjPeleza My dad was a taxi owner Katlehong - Germiston. Their first taxi was @ 4am for people to catch the 5am train. Their last taxi was @ 9:30pm after the 8pm train and shops closed at 9pm. They were out Monday- Friday between 3am and 11pm to move their passengers.

I slept over at my cousin's place(at the hood) bc he advised me not to drive back so late last night. He stays on the main road. By 4:30 AM, I was woken up by the sound of taxi's hooting & people commuting to work. Man, you can't tell me that black South Africans are "lazy."
