@FPLMate I’m sure that all the highly ranked players aren’t bad, but a mate of mine who has been consistently average at FPL for years & never finished above me once was 2000th in the world by GW 10 this season 😂 He’s had 2 Keane hauls, the VDV 23 pointer, etc… Weird season so far

One thing we see in FPL this year is there are so few consistent players. If you want to gain rank, you’re basically relying on hitting those individual, unpredictable, and often non-repeatable hauls. E.g. Keane & Thiago in GW11 Rice & Gravenberch in GW10 VDV & Rodon in GW9 Mukiele & Mateta GW8 Etc etc The people who currently have high ranks are those who have hit multiple of these. And if you haven’t hit any, it’s unlikely that the rest of your team will have been able to score enough points to get you into the top 1 million. Is it a case of small sample size? Positive and negative variance? Luck? I don’t know, I’ll leave the interpretation to smarter people. What I do know is that the game has sort of turned into a game of hoping that this will be your week to get that one-off haul, rather than having faith that a strong squad of players will be enough to grant you a green arrow. Is that good or bad? Again idk.
