Ive been on a bit of an indie game kick this month and while a lot have the same types of jokes they never hit the same. I think because they have a good idea for a joke, they dont want it to go to waste. And so they dont let you miss the joke or mess it up

A lot of UT/DR humor is "two wacky guys" but youve volunteered to be one of the guys. E.g. if you keep taking candy the game realizes youre being a Wise Guy and reacts by playing a Straight Man. It feels kind of like doing improv and both sides have chances to go "Yes, and?"

That "hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, etc" mantra is just cope cope cope. Theres the obvious, blaming your own weakness on the times, but its also a way for boomers to feel good about ruining shit because its somehow actually a good thing
