Overheard people in the country before boarding that family members will pick them up at the new airport, which is a 3 hour drive distance. They had no clue until we got down on the ground we landed at the original one.

Didn’t have the most fun flight experience, delayed 2 hours, told we will get diverted to another airport due to curfew, so I cancel my hotel and book near the new airport, no internet on flight and get told half way through that we are now actually going to the original airport as they will let us land, can’t book any new hotel as it’s after midnight and no internet… landed and cancelled hotel couldn’t reinstate booking but thankfully found another hotel at 2am…
