This is getting dangerous.
Two Vietnamese men were arrested in Nagano for cutting and stealing copper cables from a sewage treatment facility. They literally damaged critical infrastructure just to sell the metal.
This isn’t some small-time theft. Sewage treatment plants are essential public infrastructure.
Messing with them can cause serious problems for the whole area.
We keep seeing cases like this — foreigners targeting infrastructure, factories, and construction sites for copper and other metals.
They come here, commit crimes that damage Japan’s systems, and often get light treatment or aren’t deported quickly enough.
If people are willing to cut power and water-related cables for money, they clearly don’t care about the country they’re in. Japan doesn’t need more of this.
We need much stricter immigration screening and immediate deportation for anyone who damages infrastructure.
This is what happens when you prioritize cheap labor over safety and order.
