Chrome mostly manages memory at the tab/process level, but a lot of tab memory is either duplicated across tabs or cold within a live tab. The real opportunity may be fine-grained tab memory orchestration: share immutable structures across tabs evict/snapshot cold DOM+JS subgraphs inside a tab rehydrate only what the user touches. Not just “discard tab” — more like hot/warm/cold memory tiering for the web. Could hugely cut per-tab RAM without wrecking UX. wdyt?
