Later in the week, we'll have @dai_alectic and @Taj_Ali1 weighing in with their thoughts on landlordism and community.
Here's my introduction to the series and why, as a Muslim-focused publication, this is such essential work for us.

Palestinians 🇵🇸 kidnapped & now released by Israel 🇮🇱 are again & again giving accounts of barbaric torture.
Israel 🇮🇱 is holding over 9,000 Palestinians 🇵🇸, over 2,000 without charge.
Israel’s 🇮🇱 racist fascism extends to torture.
Our eyes do not lie.

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans carried out violent assaults in Athens back in March. They didn’t face any sanctions for it.
This is nothing new.
UEFA and FIFA have been aware of such racist, aggressive behaviour. The events that unfolded in Amsterdam could have been prevented.
Leyla Hamed@leylahamed
Israeli football team fans Maccabi Tel Aviv brutally beat a Palestinian man in Athens, Greece, ahead of their game against Olympiakos. Israeli violence apparently also goes unpunished in other countries. How is Israel still competing in Europe? This is disgraceful @FIFAcom

So you agree? You think Israel is committing disproportionate retaliatory violence?

David Baddiel@Baddiel
A lot of people on here feeling the need to insist that the throwing into canals, attempted stabbings, head-stamping and hunting down of Jews this week in Amsterdam was provoked by the bad behaviour of Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans. Well, good to know that in this instance we’re ok with disproportionate retaliatory violence.
