From Farmers to Action: We'd like to take a moment to appreciate what Clarkson's Farm has done for the agricultural industry. Jeremy Clarkson has brought the realities of farming into the spotlight, showing the real struggles farmers face—often working for less than a 1% return on their efforts. Clarkson's approach has not only been entertaining but has also helped educate the public about the importance of supporting our farmers. We encourage everyone to show their appreciation by voting for Clarkson's Farm in the National Television Awards. You can cast your vote at nationaltvawards.com/vote. Let's get behind him and show the world how vital our farming community really is! #ClarksonsFarm #SupportFarmers #NationalTelevisionAwards #AgricultureAppreciation @JeremyClarkson @ClarksonsFarm1 @RealHawkstone

@MentalHealthCop For me this shouldn’t be about extending current powers. We need to identify what we are looking to achieve and then writing specific legislation to achieve that aim. Bolting on existing legislation or extending bits here and there is never appropriate.

@JDaviesPhD I reached out to friends, I acknowledged my pain and I sought help from my GP. I passionately believe that speaking out and being open and honest with a hugely important. It really is ok to be broken and to say so.

@AmandaPritchard @NHSEngland Social care is a thorny issue that will take fundamental change in this country. We know it will take cross party discussion, but we have a huge labour majority, there will never be a better time than now. Pushing this down the road with an ageing population is madness

It is difficult to put into words just how tough it is for our frontline staff at the moment. We are really worried about the toll that flu and other viruses are taking on our patients and on services across the NHS. 🧵 ⬇️

Christmas can be a tough time for a lot of us. It’s supposed to be joyful, but it can also bring up feelings of loneliness, stress, or sadness. Talking about what’s on your mind can really help, but it’s not always easy. Here are some tips to help you start a conversation 💗

New suicide figures have been published by @ONS, covering the 3rd quarter of the year. Which means we now have data for first 9m of 2024 & a strong indication of what the full-year rate will be. The rise in 2023 caused a stir. Has it continued?

"Social care contributes c.£60bn to the economy, more than agriculture & utilities..an industry in its own right. It's a partner to the NHS, deserving the parity of esteem. It's time for the government to “think social care first” across policy depts. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

New suicide figures for the final 3m of 2023 are published by @ONS today, giving us rates for last year as a whole. It is not good news. The suicide rate rose 6% from 2022, the first substantial rise since 2018. The rate was 11.1 per 100,000 people, highest figure since 1999.

This report shows how decades of underfunding social care has⬆️pressure on the NHS, more people are getting stuck in hospital or ending up there unnecessarily and fewer people can get care. And care staff are overworked, poorly paid and many leave their jobs.

Personal news fanfare! How lucky was I to finally marry this one last weekend!? Sarah looked stunning and maybe everyone was right and I shouldn’t have waited 9 years to ask the question! Just the best day ever. Now enjoying a little R&R in Vienna before getting back to reality

@drjanetownson And Bristol is just the start! When will government fund social care and acknowledge that it has a fundamental duty to support those in need. That should be it’s driving focus, not small boats or rail infrastructure. People need care!

People that work in social care do amazing things every day. We need to start valuing this work by paying people fairly, at least in line with NHS Band 3.
