Adam Sandler was a great comedy actor who got trapped in to playing very similar roles over and over again until we all got bored of him. Now he's branching out in to more serious films we're all realising how great an actor he actually is. Legitimately a great of his generation.

Honestly today Johnson calling Labour “sleaze ridden” is one of the most hilarious things I’ve heard in a while. Hey Johnson over 50 of your staff resigned in one day because you were caught lying so many times in parliament and to the Queen. The night before Prince Philip’s funeral you Tories were partying in No10 and then you watched the Queen sit alone at her own husbands of 70 YEARS funeral. You were even using public money to pay for your alcohol that was wheeled into No10 in a suitcase. @Billyp444__ @anon_opin Given the efforts that Coppola, cast & crew went to to make the film, its a shame to leave anything on the cutting room floor. But I don't think the extras really add much to the original film, except for making it a longer, even more wild ride.

@anon_opin Apocalypse Now Redux …(if it counts for inclusion in this umbrella category you speak of) …is pretty notably different to the original release … to the tune of like 40-ish mins. And the scenes included do add something to the movie, like the French plantation scene for example

No Special Edition, Director's Cut or the like has ever made any appreciable difference to a film. Frankly, if it hadn't been pointed out an extra 13 seconds was added to the runtime, most film needs would never notice the original had been tinkered with.

I used to buy two newspapers a day but because of political bias I stopped buying any at all a few years ago. I have now withdrawn from watching or listening to news channels for the same reasons. It's so difficult to get unbiased news.

Earlier this morning Janey passed away in her sleep. Her family were with her. The love and support from all her friends and fans during this cancer journey brought her enormous joy. It has also been a huge comfort to us, her family and close friends, thank you.

@EdmundAvalon @Scientits So they've little equity in each property or each one is leveraged against the next, so the portfolio is worthless after CG, taxes and fees on selling. Without savings or alternative income, this in an incredibly precarious situation to live with, almost unbelievable in fact.

Large scale depreciating assets requiring constant maintenance and improvements is not what any govt has an appetite for. If it can be handed into private hands while the govt just has to 'regulate' it. Risk and cost privatised.

@davesumnersmith @DefraGovUK Yes but the obsession with keeping assets off the public books is weird. I was running a session once when a fairly senior civil servant, talking about rail assets said 'and we get them off the books, which is always good.' I asked why it is good and he had no idea!

Apparently @DefraGovUK is considering forcing the sale of English water companies to firms that would run them as not-for-profits like Welsh Water. Such structures are commonplace elsewhere in Europe, with public benefit being the top priority. Would you support such an idea?

@tanzinavega I worked for a company that sold an "AI assistant" as a product, it was given a humorous cutesy name like 'Barbara'. Not a single implementation did what we promised and our customers hated us for that. Reason #104 why I left that company.
