We've all heard of the $QNT patent. "Blockchain communication & ordering" This is a patent Quant filed in 2018 & enables a universal block time for multi-DLT coordination. Since approved it's been cited by Hitachi, IBM, Intel, etc. But did you know Quant has ANOTHER patent in the works waiting to be approved? This is the patent for "Secure multi distributed ledger system", which Quant filed for in Nov 2021. Unlike the initial patent, which was formed really early on during the Quant days, this was much more recent and when they had some establishment. As we can see the contrast, the first patent was accredited to Gilbert, Paolo & Colin. The initial cofounders of Quant Network. But for this one we can see that the assignees are Gilbert, Luke, Martin & Peter. Which are all current members of the Quant team as CEO, Head of Innovations, CPO & CTO respectively. We saw how long the initial patent got to gain approval after being filed in 2018. Thats just how the modern patent industry is, incredibly slow & as a result we'll likely see a similar timeline with this patent too. But whats this patent meant for? Just like the previous patent, this one is also focused on the overall goal and utility of Overledger. In short, this patents for instructions to be carried out on multiple DLT networks It aims to ensure secure and consistent execution across different ledgers. It monitors, verifies, and executes instructions, then records the results on at least 1 of the utilized DLTs. Sounds familiar right? Thats because this is exactly what Overledger does! In a sense this also operates as a form of SATP, as they are instructions on the mechanisms and process of multi DLT interoperable use cases. When we think about it, both Quant patents play hand in hand together perfectly. In 2018 they had established the framework for ensuring multi-DLT could be feasible by solving with a universal block time. Then in 2021, when the foundation was further laid. They patented the instructions and model for ensuring multi-DLT interoperable applications. Everything is going according to plan, it's almost as if they're building with the blueprint. As a central bank grade solution, patenting their solution is a great way to ensure security and proper use of the solution. The initial patent approval enables Quant to be the one to set a universal block time, Once this patent is approves, Quant will really have the full package ready to unveil. Both setting the block time for multi-chain application & the platform to host multi-chain utility. This just once again proves how far ahead of the game Gilbert and the team at Quant have been. Cross DLT & cross technology interoperability is becoming more of an industry focus than ever. Quant laid that foundation YEARS ago & standardized, patented and proved the solution. It's now time for the Future of Finance to begin catching up with $QNT.
