@_buck955@poncebrother@ChristopherHale There is, though. The one they found. Mary was also buried around where they found it. I’ll pray you come out of her trap. May Jesus bless you. 🙏🏻
You sent a piece of fiction written by a man who used it as the basis to sell books, who intentionally misinterprets a family name who would’ve very likely been Buried on the Mount of Olives. There isn’t a single piece of historical evidence, either academic or theological in nature, to support a Jerusalem tomb.
NEW: Pope Leo XIV says that the Catholic Church’s teaching on sexual ethics must be less prioritized over “greater, more important issues.”
“We tend to think that when the Church is talking about morality, that the only issue of morality is sexual. And in reality, I believe there are much greater, more important issues, such as justice, equality, freedom of men and women, freedom of religion, that would all take priority before that particular issue.”
@_buck955@poncebrother@ChristopherHale Trust me? I sent you an article from the 50’s with photo evidence proving his tomb was not in Rome. The RCC has been known for adding holidays and adding false doctrines and teachings. You have no ground to stand on besides your institution which has a dark history.
“Trust me bro”. Honestly you’re far too engaged to not see the irony in rejecting the commonly held belief and contextually support, near universally academically accepted truths, but then to also call the teachings of the Roman church pagan and claim to only seek guidance from the Bible.
But then also cite some self serving book published in the 1960s by an individual with no actual evidence to support his claim and received only rejection or dismissal by his scientific peers.
@_buck955@poncebrother@ChristopherHale The apostles did not designate pagan holidays as our doctrine, such as December 25th, and praying to dead saints and the queen of heaven. Revelation warns of this behavior.
So you trust the Bible except where Peter is referenced as the rock on which the Church was built and who was given the Keys to Heaven? Why is Peter referenced but not Paul?
Texts from early century historians is hardly “Roman paganism” but the irony of calling the accepted teachings of the Apostles, which prevailed over hundreds of years and was accepted by those there who witnessed, paganism, cannot be lost on you.
@_buck955@poncebrother@ChristopherHale There is no evidence Peter appointed anyone. I look for my evidence with the Bible, you rely on institutionalized approved doctrines.
@Pear925@poncebrother@ChristopherHale There isnt a shred of evidnece to support St. Linus wasn’t appointed or embraced by Peter and Paul. Some of the omly time accurate texts available to understand their relationship come from Jerome and Eusebius who both acknowledge his role and seniority within the Church.
@_buck955@poncebrother@ChristopherHale We have no biblical proof of Peter being in Rome, not even in his own letters. We do of Paul however. I trust the Bible over this institution of Roman paganism.
You can cite whatever unattributed, non peer reviewed, book you like, the overwhelming academic consensus is that he traveled to Rome later in life and was crucified under Nero around 64-67 AD and that his tomb lies under the Vatican.
Aside from the archaeological digs confirming the age of the Roman Necropolis and its proximity to the Circus of Nero, numerous texts and letters as old as the first century AD support Peter’s presence and work in Rome.
@_buck955@poncebrother@ChristopherHale Also even if Saint Peter was the “vicar” Peter himself never appointed a successor to HIM. Meaning it would end at Peter.
@Pear925@poncebrother@ChristopherHale Matthew 16:18-19 “…you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church…” Vicar being derived from the Latin word for substitute, representative or proxy, yes, it’s extremely common knowledge that Peter was recognized as such amongst the apostles and the first Bishop of Rome.
@poncebrother@ChristopherHale Repent? He is the Vicar of Christ. Catholicism is Christianity. All other forms of Christianity are co-opted or derelict interpretations of a faith, built by the Roman Catholic Church. He confesses as does any practicing Catholic.
What was the intent?
While many people are losing their collective minds over the art Nick Adams created as Trump healing the nation.
There was a small detail change in what appears to be Sol invictus. Figure with spike halo of the pagan sun god (statue of liberty)
Emperor Constantine famously inscribed Roman coins with “SOLI INVICTO COMITI” which translates to “To the Unconquered Sun, Companion of the Emperor”
In 312, the Battle of the Milvian Bridge Constantine reportedly had a vision of a “Cross of light” in the sky above the sun, with the words “By this conquer”. His soldiers’ shields were marked with the Chi-Rho ☧, a Christian monogram.
After Constantine won the battle, he changed history forever with the Edict of Milan, which legalized Christianity and ended official persecution.
This era marked a major turning point: Christianity moved from a persecuted faith to one favored by the emperor.
The Church in Rome, which traced its roots to the apostolic era gained significant imperial support.
As the Western Roman Empire later fell the Universal Church emerged as a powerful, enduring institution.
I would have preferred such a controversial image not be posted. But there is an interesting historical perspective.
Is the global cabal about to fall? Would love to hear different perspectives. 💡
@Pear925@Allesontiire Bible never commands Sunday service or physical buildings either, yet churches still do it. There’s room for development And It’s not a requirement, there’s still one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ. But the Bible teaches that if you are in Christ and die, you’re alive
Yet you Roma paganistas worship Mary, saints, angels, wafer, dead bodies, bones and literally anything else you can make into gods
INSTEAD OF JESUS CHRIST
@TimLoMich@Allesontiire At the end of the day, Jesus never told us to pray to Mary or to erect statues of her or call upon her name or call upon the name of any dead saint for that matter. You can do as you wish for you have free will, but you are being led astray.
@Pear925@Allesontiire Jesus and Mary are the new creation, new Adam and Eve. Jesus is God, and Mary is not. But she is an example of a faithful response and obedience to God(contrasting the disobedience of Eve). You can say that’s a stretch, but you can’t deny that John is being very…
@TimLoMich@Allesontiire He still refers to her as “women” Mary was a widow and had no one else to care for her, so he instructed the disciple to care for her, not to worship her.
@Pear925@Allesontiire So was Mary Jesus’ mother or not? Are you forgetting at the cross where Jesus tells Mary ‘woman, behold your son’ and then tells his disciple ‘behold, your mother’ referring to Mary (John 19:26-27)
@TimLoMich@Allesontiire Jesus never tells us to make statues of Mary or bow before any statue or call upon her name in prayer. The only mediator to god is Jesus Christ.
