God, being a woman must be so exhausting. I had left my group and was in Gare du Nord to catch a train back to London and there was a guy that followed me in from outside and wouldn’t take my “leave me alone,” and “fvck off” and random swear words as an answer and was basically running behind me as I sped up to get away from him.

I do unfortunately want to be friends with him because sound engineering nerds in a rare find in my city, and I am looking for someone to chat to about plugins So yeah I do want to see if we could still hang for a coffee maybe as well.

I'm not judgemental of it at all though. So I just kindly want to let him know, I really enjoyed the chats but this is not the kind of energy I am looking for. And its an incopatibility sign for me.

So I matched with someone in the music indsutry circle. But way too soon in the chat he mentioned foreplay (like day three), and yeah, I am just not kind of person. I'm very shy and I take a long time to get confortable around someone. So it's an immediate nope for me.

@WrittenBy_SS Mom said “you’re family now” and started planning the wedding before dessert. Sarah came for introduction, left with a lifelong contract. Your brother doesn’t even know he’s engaged yet 😂

My brother brought his girlfriend home for the first time and my mom decided within the first ten minutes that she was either future family or a complete waste of everybody's time. Her name was Sarah. Poor girl came dressed like she was attending a job interview. Smiling at everything. Saying "this is so nice" every thirty seconds. You could literally see the nervousness on her face. My mom wasted no time. One minute Sarah was sitting in the living room. The next minute she was in the kitchen helping to pound yam like she'd been training for it her whole life. She tried her best. Then my mom handed her a spoon and said, "Taste the soup. Does it need more salt?" Sarah didn't even taste it. She just smiled and said, "It's perfect." The whole kitchen went quiet. My mom stared at her. Then at my brother. Then back at Sarah. Finally she said, "You're lying." My brother nearly choked. "Mom, she's just nervous.. " But my mom started laughing. "I know she's lying. I like her." Sarah looked completely confused. My mom said, "Any girl willing to lie about salt on her first visit is trying to keep peace. That's a useful skill in marriage." At that point my brother looked like he wanted the ground to open up and swallow him. We sat down to eat and my mom spent the entire meal studying Sarah like she was reviewing an application form. Then, out of nowhere, she said: "From today, you will call me Mummy." Sarah looked at my brother for help. My brother just nodded slowly. Not because he agreed. Because he knew there was no appeal process. That was eight months ago. They're still not engaged. My mom doesn't care. Last week I caught her showing Sarah pictures of wedding decorations. I don't think my brother knows he's getting married yet.

My neighbour offered me sex instead of the ₦35,000 she has been owing me. It's been six months since she borrowed the money. She said she needed it to complete her daughter's school fees. She has a daughter, and they have been living alone for the past year. This morning, I met her outside and politely asked when she would be able to pay me back. She smiled and said things had been very difficult. I told her I understood, but I also needed my money. She looked around, moved closer to me, pointed at her bum bum, and said, "Oga, let's go inside na." At first, I thought she was joking. When I realized she was serious, I told her that I needed my ₦35,000 and wouldn't exchange it for anything else. She sighed, shook her head, and said, "Oga, are you sure you're a man?"

@boltedsage77 Nah you weren’t wrong at all. She needed that reality check. Let her feel what it’s actually like to host without dumping everything on someone else

My mother-in-law has never fully accepted that her son’s house stopped being “hers” after we got married. She still walks into our kitchen rearranging things without asking, opens cabinets like she pays the bills and refers to our home as “my son’s house” instead of OUR house. I usually ignored it to keep peace but last month she crossed a line I genuinely still think about. One Saturday morning she showed up at 8am with bags of groceries and casually announced she was hosting a “small family dinner” at our house. Small apparently meant almost 30 relatives 😭 She had already invited everybody without asking me first. Then she started assigning me tasks like I worked for her. Told me what to cook. Rearranged my dining room. Even told relatives on the phone “Don’t worry, she’ll handle everything.” Meanwhile my husband just stood there looking uncomfortable expecting me to go along with it to avoid drama. So instead of arguing, I smiled politely, grabbed my purse and left.

Overflowing ledgers. A flawless reputation. A home filled with joy. By worldly standards, he had conquered everything. But it took a quiet midnight rain and a single look into his bedroom to realize he had the entire equation backward. Read this short story before morning: 🧵

Yesterday's episode with my Nephew... So on Monday I cook chicken pepper requested by my dad, his grandpa and I sent it over. So I called my dad yesterday, and immediately he heard my name as my dad called me, he shouted Aunty Mimi and he gave him the phone. Me: Bobo, how are you? Him Aunty Mimi, good evening. I am not fine. Me: AHH, what happened. Him: It's my teacher o. Me: What happened to your teacher. Him: She decided not to come to school today, without telling me. Me: (As who are you to her) oh sorry o. Him: And I will not greet her tomorrow, even after she knows I love her so much. Me: Sorry nah, but you love me too? Him: I will love you again if you cook another chicken pepper. Me: 😂😂. Don't go and sell your grandpa's house o. Him: Noo, don't forget our fruit day is next week, you will buy pineapple, cucumber, apple, watermelon and banana. It's five, you will it a day before I will go to school. Okay byeeeee. Me: Byeeee. Just like that. Why me God? Who did I offend? The bills are piling up, please I need help.... I don't want to be aunty again, I didn't stress those who are aunties when I was little, I would have said its pay back, so help me God. 🤦🏼‍♀️

UNPOPULAR OPINION : "Follow your passion" is terrible career advice. Passion is an emotion, and emotions are unstable. What you love at 22 is rarely what you love at 32. Instead, follow your competence. Find what you are naturally good at, double down on mastering that skill, and become rare and valuable. Passion doesn't create success. Success, mastery, and autonomy create passion. Agree or disagree?

@cutelipsxx I’m so sorry you went through that. No one deserves to have their trust betrayed like that, especially by someone who was supposed to protect you.

I Don't Think I'll Ever Be Able To Move On From When My Teacher Slept With Me High School. I grew up in an extremely abusive conservative household, and was physically and sexually abused throughout a large portion of my childhood. Despite this I was a naive straight A Student who lived at school because I didn't want to be beat at home.

Fair choice 🫡 John Wick brought a whole new level of action style and choreography. But Rambo walked so characters like Wick could run both are icons in their own eras.
