@Mike_kim714 Well done. Yes the 5i on 16 was super impressive. Had to have felt so good to flush that shot! Good luck this week!

Thoughts from Valero: -T2! I’m proud of the finish but even more so from the way I did it. I went through a super hot stretch but while finishing round 3, I felt my driver swing going in a bad direction. In yrs past, after the 9th hole in rd 4, I prob would have finished 10th at best. Ive learned what happens in my swing when I struggle like this and I was able to piece it back together and make a run towards the end. -18th hole was playing so tough. I hit a really good driver, 3wd then had to hit a PW from 100 yds. It wasn’t adrenaline that made me hit it over the back, the wind laid down a bit, or the wind was covered by the stands too much. Tommy also hit PW from very similar spot but came up well short. I needed to make birdie to PW was the only choice. It was actually a sick bunker shot for a tap in par. -The swing I made on 16 with a 5i, is something I’m going to remember for a long time. It was so flush, it looked perfect as soon as I looked up and was an absolute dart when I really needed it. -I’ve actually never liked TPC SA tbh. It’s a windy, desert golf where you can be re-teeing pretty quick. I decided to play because I wanted to play the week before the Masters and I sure am glad I did. Tiring week but obviously well worth it!

John Harbaugh said, "The only failure in life is not getting back up. When you get knocked down and stay down then you're a failure. But you're never a failure if you get back up." Resilience is your ability to face adversity and move forward. It means grit and adaptability.

The value of competing in sport is not in winning, losing, earning a scholarship or getting to play in college or professionally. The value of sport is in the development of discipline, grit, facing adversity, habits and a growth mindset. Use the game; don’t let the game use you!

“What’s wrong with you?” vs. “Walk me through what happened.” “How could you do that?” vs. “Help me understand your process?” “You’re wrong.” vs. “I disagree.” “Don’t be nervous.” vs. “This is exciting. You’ll feel some nerves, that’s okay.” How you frame it matters.

Instead of just telling teammates to work harder, show them how to work hard. Instead of just telling them to have a great attitude, display one. Before you can lead them with your words, you have to lead them with your actions. BE the kind of teammate you want. Lead by example!

Studies show that playing team sports is a greater predictor of success for doctors-in-training than test scores. That’s powerful! Team sports are life lessons: leadership, commitment, respect & dedication just to name a few. Learn them & let them lead you to a successful future!

You don't realize that your body language is like a neon sign. It screams everything you’re not saying. Primarily, it shows your character, attitude, intention & ability to handle adversity. Keep positive body language, especially when things are hard. It shows you can overcome!

Leadership isn’t easy. It is heavy, can be a burden and lonely. Hard conversations, constant questioning/criticism, compassion, taking ownership. But it is also life giving. It unlocks the potential of people. It moves us forward. Leaders must have soft hearts and thick skin.
