Have you ever actually seen an aircraft carrier? It typically carries about 70 to 75 aircraft, including helicopters. At no point are all of them on the flight deck are ready to fly at the same time. Not all aircraft are fueled at any given moment, and not all. Some may be needing maintenance, whether it is component replacement, inspections, or even major work like engine replacement. We have seen aircraft carrier fires before, especially the USS Forrestal fire during the Vietnam War. Even then, the flight deck was loaded, but the immediate priority was firefighting, not preparing aircraft for launch. All personnel on Navy ships are trained to fight fires. In a situation like that, the focus is on containing and extinguishing the fire, not flight operations.
