A lot of “MAGA” point to the 1950s as a time when America was great. This is not wrong. What’s not real understood about the 1950s is that we lived in a VERY egalitarian society at the time. Wealth inequality was infinitesimal then compared to now. Surgeons lived 2 miles away from their patients in nicer houses… not compounds with private security. America will never be great “again” until the massive wealth gap between a tiny fraction of people and the rest of us is addressed.
