
2024 Sports in Kansas 6A🥎 Player of the Year: Kendall Yarnell of Olathe Northwest. Yarnell hit .506 this season in likely the best league in the state of Kansas as she led the Ravens to the 6A state title. She had seven doubles, three triples and 15 home runs to go along with her 39 RBI for the 6A state champions. She had a 1.241 slugging percentage this season with 40 total hits. Yarnell also became the all-time career home run leader in Kansas history this season with 47 career home runs over the last four seasons, including a home run in the title game to ultimately propel the Ravens to the state championship over Campus. Head coach Shawn Lopez was named the 6A coach of the year from Sports in Kansas while teammate Bre Severino was named the 6A Pitcher of the Year from Sports in Kansas. Yarnell will play in the Big 12 next season at the University of Central Florida. She was also part of the 6A state champion Olathe Northwest track and field team and earned all-state honors in the throws. #sportsinkansas
