If Texas Tech ever gets an invite from the SEC or Big Ten or Super League, it would leave in a heartbeat, no matter how it was treated in the Big 12. Same for any Big 12 school. I understand you're frustrated, but let's think this through.

@jlkurtz Texas Tech will one day leave the Big12. The way we were treated will fester until this change occurs. Texas Tech was the biggest revenue generator for the Big12 in 25-26 and will continue to be moving forward.

@KSUFan360 @jlkurtz I think if we head to two major conferences that historical thinking goes out the window. All that will matter is can these schools bring us more revenue. That’s not to say we 100% go down that path but if we do Miami and FSU won’t be left behind

@RedRaidRitt @jlkurtz Sports inclusion may help incentive presidents to push certain schools. SEC is notoriously against multiple schools from the same state. UT being the lone exception. FSU, Miami and Clemson may find themselves blocked by UF and USC respectively. Big Ten may still be their play

@KSUFan360 @jlkurtz It could but we will see Techs plan is to be an AAU school by 2035 so things can change the timeline is aggressive but that’s the stated goal. There’s several big hurdles to get over before that’s even an option but they are working towards it

@RedRaidRitt @jlkurtz Think you kind of missed the point. In 2023, AAU was extended to 6 schools, including George Washington, UC Riverside and USF. None of which had anything to do with sports. If other schools have similar plans as TTU, that might limit TTU chances if there is a limit.

@KSUFan360 @jlkurtz FSU and Clemson make the most sense to go to the SEC. Miami likely SEC as well but Big10 could be an option. UTD & George Mason do nothing for the Big10 and will not be invited so that’s not even a discussion

@RedRaidRitt @jlkurtz NU has been working to rejoin. FSU, Clemson, University of Texas at Dallas, George Mason also have stated goals of joining AAU in the near future with similar plans. FSU and Clemson specifically make sense for future sports expansion for the Big Ten or SEC.

@RedRaidRitt @jlkurtz Institutions have to be invited by current members. There are no criteria in which they are automatically qualified. Like a good Ole Boys club, no matter what TTU did, if they had upset current members, that invite would never come. Keep in mind, they even kicked out NU

@jasongordo626 @jlkurtz I think that’s a fair perspective honestly, this wasn’t something tech was striving for until recently so there is going to be some challenges. I think AAU is one piece of what Tech needs to get into the Big10 the viewership revenue and overall brand growth will need to continue
