I'm thankful for opera because it allows us to be immersed in the experiences of others and feel their emotions through the music. Opera has a wonderful way of humanizing and connecting us all to one another. It is my hope that that connection fosters community and understanding.

The opera industry requires deep institutional reform. Through ethical producing practices, we at Renegade Opera hope to interrogate and dismantle the white-supremacist, misogynistic, and capitalist norms of opera culture.
