@RightSidesOnly_ I paid $130 for Daytona tickets in the first row, that’s really cheap not sure what the complaint is. Your local NBA team probably sucks and those are nose bleeds

First thing #NASCAR needs to do to get the fans back on board: Lower admission prices. Why are tickets $135 if the stands will only be half full? My local NBA team has tickets for $12 some nights. Fill the stands first, then raise the prices.

@bmlong137 Yes. That’s why they’ve taken out grandstands at so many tracks. Get some juice of a packed house back.

@RightSidesOnly_ This is true in all industries, from sports, to restaurants, bars, and car washes. The first priority is making the place look popular or busy.

@kev_car28 Lower them and advertise it. It would lead to a large increase across all 3 series.

@RightSidesOnly_ Lowering ticket prices doesn’t necessarily lead to a large enough increase in attendance to boost overall profits compared to the current price.

@RightSidesOnly_ THANK YOU. This always got me heated at IMS. You have the most seats for a race track and yet it’s still $45 for the cheapest ticket and thats GA for the brickyard. A family of 4 would have to spend $180 to get in. Plus food and drinks. Charge $15-$20 and see how many people come

@BKrumbles Can we please think about the long term health of the sport rather than one weekend of profits please. I understand the math.

@RightSidesOnly_ Mixture of things, but lowering prices won’t necessarily get more fans to come. Travel and accommodations for anyone out of town is a huge expense. If they lower ticket price by 20% but only 10% more fans show up, they make less money.

@RightSidesOnly_ I used to go to 8-10 races a year. Texas 2x a year when they used to have ticket deals and the stands were full. As soon as I heard gentlemen start your engines and they fired the cars up, I was hooked. More in the stands, more concessions, more merch, more eyes on the sport.

@RightSidesOnly_ @dabfordale @TXMotorSpeedway The long term health of the sport DOES NOT require in-person attendance number. The whole thing is profitable with ZERO people (remember COVID seasons) - there is plenty of ways to consume the race and in-person is the least favorable now.

@packerselite4 @RightSidesOnly_ A day before the race you might as well drop ticket prices and try to get people to fill the stands and try to get those people to spend money on concessions.

@RightSidesOnly_ Allow fans to buy garage passes, make access affordable. We have the best sport in terms of access, but we have to get people in the door.

@geek49203 Right. Sponsorship is certainly another discussion. But get people watching/attending and the sponsors will come. Good point of online ads though

@RightSidesOnly_ The real problem is that you don't have the Winston Sports Marketing geniuses with a $1 billion budget to promote the thing. And that the biz model (ads on the side of cars) was seriously hurt by online "Google" ads. And the slow death of CATV, which used to be cheap.

@__brendino__ The actual value of something is what people are willing to pay for it. The box office value is not that currently. If people were reselling tickets, no box office, you would see what they’re actually worth.

@geek49203 But would this not be better LONG TERM for the tracks and the sport? Honestly. Would this not drive interest up? Then raise prices to reflect your new increased demand you’ve created?

@RightSidesOnly_ Total Revenue = ave tix price X number of butts. Your math might work, not close to a sure thing. Add in the extra staff needed for bigger crowd, deduct added income from concessions stands. Oh, and to get that bigger crowd, lots of $$$ to get those $50 butts.

@RightSidesOnly_ I agree, ticket prices are too high. Now to watch NASCAR, a person is required to subscribe to all kinds of streaming services. Nobody knows where the races are being broadcast anymore.
