Very exciting week for Doctor Who fans with a new Blu Ray release. I gleefully collected my copy from HMV today but then found another copy had been posted through the letterbox when I got home..? I was so excited that I had accidentally bought it twice.

@Scorby_Doo I also love the story of how when Paul Cornell wrote an episode of Doctors, all the characters were named after characters in a Doctor Who episode. It had to be The Seeds of Doom as that was the only episode with enough normal sounding names. 😂

@Scorby_Doo When teaching or delivering training I slip in names like Hazel, Angela, or Stephen from time to time. It’s a bit harder to get an Albert or Monique in there though!

On to series 5 of Foyle’s War. And the Leo meme perfectly shows my reaction when I spotted Clifford Rose in the first episode! And a picture of the man himself playing another man of the cloth, Bishop Francis Wood.

The link to Secret Army? Producer Gerard Glaister flew on aerial reconnaissance missions over Europe. The photos he took would have ended up at Hughenden to form the basis of map production for bombing missions.

This episode (Plan of Attack) shows map drawing and printing work at ‘Beverley Lodge’ - a fictional name standing in for Operation Hillside at Hughenden! Now an NT property, the top secret map work was only uncovered in the early 00s. Coincidently I visited a few weeks ago!

@StephenEgan02 It’s an amazing book. Got it for Xmas in 2018 and spent the whole holidays reading it. I love the cast photos in it! It was this book that got me to follow Andy’s twitter accounts, eventually follow his podcasts, eventually watch Secret Army…the rest is history!
